PASADENA, JANUARY 16, 2012 -- Eleven years ago on Martin Luther King Day the Pasadena Recovery Center opened it's doors and admitted it's first client. Founded by psychiatrist Dr. Lee Bloom, his daughter, Alison Triessl and his son, Michael Bloom, the Pasadena Recovery Center has always been dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive and affordable treatment to those suffering from chemical dependency. Today marked the center's 11th anniversary and to celebrate the occasion a special luncheon was held. Distinguished guest speakers Dr. David Smith, founder of the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic and noted expert on addiction, and Dr. Matthew Torrington discussed advances in addiction treatment with 50 plus guests who gathered at the center.
Pasadena Recovery Center is a leader in the field of treating clients with dual diagnosis - individuals suffering from chemical dependency and other emotional or behavioral issues. The center offers inpatient and outpatient treatment programs as well as a comprehensive family program.
TV viewers may recognize the Pasadena Recovery Center as the backdrop for Vh1's hit reality series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." All 5 seasons of the series were filmed on location at the center and the just announced 6th season will also be filmed here this summer.

This Season Of Rehab Will Expand To Assist Young Adults In Need of Drug And Alcohol Treatment
PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 14, 2012 -- VH1 is once again partnering withPinsky to lead a group of addicts through the difficult process of getting clean and sober. The new season of "Rehab with " (Tentative title) will not feature celebrities with substance abuse issues, but instead follow the real-life experiences of young adults who are struggling with addiction as they undergo the same detoxification and treatment plan at The Pasadena Recovery Center as utilized in " with ." "Rehab with " is set to premiere in the summer of 2012 on VH1 with eight one-hour episodes.
Over the years, many viewers have reached out to VH1 seeking assistance fromfor their addiction issues. In this installment of the 'Rehab' franchise and VH1 have decided to expand the benefits of the program to adults who are in dire need of treatment. The goal of the series is to treat a group of young adults in their twenties and thirties who are struggling to get clean and sober and give them guidance to get their lives back on track.
"This show has always resonated with our viewers but we feel this expanded format will hold up a mirror to our core audience and hopefully give them some new insight to this disease that touches almost everyone - whether they are struggling with addiction themselves or know someone who is," said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Programming and Production.

More than 85 million Americans are affected by addiction, whether they've faced the disease themselves or have supported family members or friends through a substance abuse issue.
